“Nephrite! Nephrite! Are you okay?”
Motoki jinked the doorknob to get around his cheap lock. Nephrite’s knuckles bled sluggishly the same blood that painted the broken mirror.
“Fire.”
“What is with you and breaking things?”
“Endymion.”
“Are you having one of those my-picture-of-Mamoru breakdowns again?”
“Endymion, I fuckin’ need you. Where did you go?”
“Nephrite, snap out of it, man.”
“So damn much fire. Red. Did I do that?”
“You broke the mirror. The blood’s yours, but don’t worry, you’re not really hurt or anything.”
“Master, Kunzite, Jadeite, Zoisite, where did you go? Why am I alone?”
Motoki leaned over and kissed Nephrite until the real world returned to his eyes. “You’re not alone.”
