Having been a queen in a past life may be impressive but it wasn’t doing Tomoyo any good in this life.

All the others Luna and Artemis had found could transform into Senshi but evidentially queens were too regal (and old lady-ish) to do that. She could use the Silver Crystal which was all so useful when the Senshi, Tuxedo Kamen, and the Dark Kingdom were all looking for it and failing.

Tomoyo didn’t even have much in the way of past life memories like Sailor Venus. She was getting pretty annoyed at being stuck at being involved in all of this because of a person she didn’t feel she really knew at all and then having to be protected all the time because she was useless.

If Sailor Jupiter could reject that her destiny was to be alone and Venus that hers was to be unloved and Mars that hers was to be controlled by a past life, then Tomoyo could be who she wanted to be now. And she didn’t want to be Queen Serenity on the sidelines; she could be like Tuxedo Kamen, actually using the bit of magic she had found in herself. Fingering the slightly rusty but solid shuriken she had bought in Kamakura and sharpened Tomoyo had no idea what kind of person Serenity had been but she knew what she was going to be.
