Now that I have finally gotten out of the way all the backing things up and migrations, I can actually post some of that new content I was hoping to this month.

You're for Me and I'm for You: It's a soulmate AU. ...Actually, it's a bunch of different soulmate AUs. Lots of them. All the ones I could think of basically. [Lion/Luther, Russ/Magnus, Curze/Guilliman, Horus/Sanguinius, Fulgrim/Ferrus, Corax/Perturabo, Khan/Mortarion, Ilya Ravallion, Targutai Yesugei, Angron/Lorgar, Vulkan/lost primarch, Alpharius/Omegon/lost primarch, Dorn/Sigismund, PG-13]
My Fate/Zero watch-along friends can never know my secret porn-writing shame! (Fortunately, they don't know this journal.) Yay for h-games.

I wrote this in March as I was playing Black/White for the first time. Then I was all "I'm going to edit this, because it really needs it, and I'll get a beta and everything (maybe I'll even ask Farla to do it), but it'll end up being awesome." That never happened and it's about to be September, so I'm willing to believe it never will. So guess what, 19 pages of scenes at random points in the game that sort of form a continuity and probably only make sense if you remember/can figure out the exact scene in canon they take place before/during/after and are too long to be drabbles and too short to be real chapters.

Title: In Her Image

Version: Game, English edition (I just dislike the name "Hilda")
Disclaimer: Nothing belongs to me but my game copies.

On this reread, I was reminded how darn enjoyable Auda ibn Jad is. Evil, yes, but terribly amusingly so. Also, oh 1990, when you could just write fantasy Islam evil-jihads and not mean anything political by it. On the other hand, it made me sad, if minorly so, to try to sketch out the twenty-sided jewel of Sul and realized it was physically impossible to reconcile how the axes are supposed to work with the three domains of the gods who ever had theirs given. Clearly they were just assigned as narratively convenient, not by anyone actually folding some paper into a model. Not to mention Promenthas and Evren had the same three, which is a straight error.

There are all of two Rose of the Prophet fics on AooO. I love both of them.

Title: Last Night
Author/Artist: purplekitten
Fandom: Rose of the Prophet by Weis and Hickmann
Rating: PG-13
Pairing or Character(s): Mathew/Auda ibn Jad, off-screen one-sided Mathew/Khardan, one-sided ibn Jad/Zohra, tsundere Khardan/Zohra
Disclaimer: Nothing belongs to me, I swear, I would have noticed.
Warnings: polygamy, crossdressing
Author's Note: This story fades to black not very far in. Let me establish this in advance, because the ending's very cop-out if a reader has any expectations.

This prompt was originally appended with "points with Fiore", so I always felt obligated to write that for this. (I'm not sure if I've ever even seen that movie all the way through.)

Apologies for any Hindi fail. I keep feeling like I've got some gender-conjugation wrong, not that I speak a word of the language, even ignoring the bits when I'm shifting genders on purpose.

This really doesn't make much sense without a passing familiarity of K-drama cliches and the Korean Wave in Japan. Fortunately, you can see a summary of every K-drama ever by watching this clip.

My classmates in East Asian pop culture used to make fun of me for taking huge amounts of notes on everything the teacher said (actually half of it was fic in the margins, but what do they know and they were singing a different tune when we got grades back), particularly taking notes of our teacher's ten minute long digressions into the specific plot details of particular TV drama plots. It wasn't difficult note taking. I simply had a short-hand symbol for every major plot event that I used from show to show in whichever order, attached to a set of initials for which of the four major characters it was (ex. amnesia, being hit by a car--with a particular one for "amnesia because of being hit by a car", suicide attempt, etc.). Could get a whole show in two lines without writing small.

Rewatching PGSM this month, I'm really tempted to write academic-esque meta comparing and contrasting it with other K- and J-TV dramas and "trendy dramas" and such and male-oriented live action shows.

Writing this in an actual airport with my computer off, I found myself in that twitchy position of suddenly feeling the immense need to google something of no importance whatsoever and lacking internet. Later I would discover there is, in fact, such a thing as a direct flight between Narita and Heathrow (edit: according to one frame in episode 26, Mamoru's ticket is of the direct; no one cares), and while it is theoretically possible to go between the two by way of New Delhi, this is not the normal stopover recommended by the internet airline companies, which is Singapore, Hong Kong, or somewhere in Eastern Europe. So this drabble must be set in Copenhagen or Munich or something, not that it matters or in is any way specific, let alone accurately so.
