“For all that lettuce.”

“Lettuce? What are you talking about?”

“For the new turtles we’re getting. Kamekichi will be so happy, won’t you?”

“Motoki, I’m pregnant.”

Talk about miscommunication! But you should never ASSUME that men know what you're talking about, even if they're as adorable as Motoki.

I couldn't think of a line ambiguous enough to have started at the beginning of the conversation, but then again, men...

Trust me, it wasn't necessary, because it reads as if they started talking about something and Motoki suddenly thought "Ooh, bigger apartment = more turtles!"
