“I have you now, Sailor Moon,” the lemure cackled, adjusting his top hat and fussing with his very fake large mustache. “Either you flip the switch on the tracks to the tunnel you’re stuck in or you let the runaway trolley run over those five people tied to the tracks.”
“Don’t do it!” cried Sailor Mars. “Don’t be a utilitarian!”
“Don’t be Peter Unger! Everyone hates Unger!”
“I’m sure there’s been enough written on the subject of runaway trolleys to stop any real one in its tracks. If only we had it with us…”
“Look,” Tobihaneru interrupted the peanut gallery, “make a decision. Time is running out.”
Sailor Moon nodded and reached for the switch.
“I’m sure there are more solutions to this than two in real life,” Sailor Mercury continued.
“Too bad this series is too idealistic to take advantage of them!”
“That’s my cue.” Sailor Uranus pushed the villain from the bridge into the path of the speeding trolley to sufficiently divert it from everyone else.
“Isn’t it always another villain who kills the villain?”
“In this anime, yes. I’ve been trying to do that for so many seasons.”
“Let’s just untie the hostages before the next train.”
Tobihaneru let out a bloodcurdling scream.
