Day 2 - Favourite TV series

Most common question you here, always hard to answer because there're just so many things I like. At various times I could more confidently say "Digimon" or "Bleach" or "D.Gray-man", but now I'm quibbling around with "Well, there's Le Chevalier d'Eon and Dennou Coil and FullMetal Alchemist and Gintama and Michiko e Hatchin and Soul Eater and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and World Destruction" and so on. (Seriously, don't ask my favorite book either. Even worse. At least movie I can answer "A Lion in Winter" or "What Dreams May Come".)
But my current standard answer, which I will gush about in more detail here, is: Moyashimon.
Moyashimon is adorable. So overwhelmingly cute and squee inducing. The animation, the music, the voices. The fact I like the plot is just an added bonus.
All the characters are interesting, never completely unlikeable or unrelatable, and undergo various character arcs and development. It's slice-of-life and character- rather than external-plot-driven, but never boring because the characters were that interesting. I really want to list 'I like Kei. I like Mutou. I like Itsuki-sensei.' but I realize I will go through the entire cast if I let myself go on. The character development was natural and understated but really, really recognizable if you compare the first few episodes with the last ones, particularly for Misato and Kawahama.
It's geeky. "Tales of Agriculture" here. It is, to my knowledge, accurate about the intricacies of beer brewing and various really gross things. It's not afraid to embrace its setting and be nerdy and gross and while it doesn't always take itself too seriously, it's a friendly and embracing sort of mocking of the sort of people who go steal cabbage in the middle of the night and the sort of people who care about such theft.
It's short; it's sweet; I love Moyashimon.
