Now here's a question that's different to fully encompass, because my behavior is often drastically and spastically different depending on the day, situation, phase of the moon, alignment of Jupiter, etc.

Most people who first meet me think Hinata (from Naruto). That has been an occasional nickname at some cons I've worked, where it is announced that anyone failing to (or even succeeding to) put a name down for their badge will be randomly assigned one, starting with the names of the female Naruto characters. This is sometimes accurate, sometimes not. I go through periods of being painfully shy, sometimes phasing into full panic attacks at the thought of social interaction that put me more in Crona from Soul Eater territory, while other times I'm not saying much because I suck royally at making small talk or because I've gone off to chase butterflies inside my head like Osaka from Azumanga Daioh.

I have best narrowed it down to: I am nervous when dealing with people I know a little bit and respect and want to like me. People I know well, I'm completely comfortable with. People I don't know at all, I don't care about their opinions and probably think they're morons or freshmen or other such vermin, and, for instance, I have no problems with public speaking in front of a large group, probably fewer than most people. (Nick and I keep each other from doing violence to the club freshmen. We're not sure how this mutual system works.)

Lindsey, a former roommate of mine, decided she had me figured out one day: "You're not Hinata--you're Shikamaru." There's a fair amount of truth to this. I'm rather overwhelmingly lazy, brilliant (and humble), prone to snark, really dangerous and driven on the rare occasions I am angry, willing to do things (like go rescue Sasuke) not because I want to but because it's my job/duty/the right thing to do, and likewise totally devote to my friends.

I might occasionally admire Kamina-types, Shikamaru is not just what I'm mostly like, but how I want to be.
