Yuzu had decided that Ukitake-san was Rukia’s father. Karin had already noticed Rukia called Ukitake “taichou” like Abarai-kun called Rukia’s brother and Matsumoto-san called Hitsugaya-kun when they thought they were alone.
As a nurse, Yuzu couldn’t help but notice Ukitake-san’s… condition and she did her best to make his stays as comfortable as possible.
Their father clearly knew him, which Yuzu thought to be related to his disease and Karin doubted somehow.
Ukitake-san was unfailingly polite, however, as Karin served him tea or whatever else Yuzu had thrust into her arms. That was a lot more than could be said for most of the people Ichi-nii and Rukia brought home, so Karin wasn’t going to object.
