I was rereading Plague Garden the last day or two and I already knew I liked Gardus/Tornus, but then I was like: You know what would be hilarious? Gardus/Tornus/Cadoc Kel. The first two so damn wholesome it gives me writer's block, but Cadoc, he gets things done.

(Especially when I'm writing him as basically Fate Gilgamesh. But for the purposes of this story, not Archer Gilgamesh--Caster Gilgamesh.)

Yep. It was the first AoS novel I read and still my favorite. (Though that probably wasn't the best order since it assumes the reader's already read half the Realmgate Wars books for context.) The Steel Souls have been pretty stellar in all of their appearances, but Plague Garden lets them go all-out being adorable at Nurgle.
