He wanted to ignore her, but that wouldn’t have been polite. “Yes Kusajishi-fukutaichou?”
Yachiru loaded up his arms with candy, stuffing stray pieces into his mouth.
Renji shot him a pitying look, having seen Byakuya stuff sweets into Yachiru’s mouth to silence her often enough.
“Kira-chan should be happy.”
“I am happy.”
“You don’t look happy.”
“You just can’t see how happy he is through the hair,” Renji suggested.
“Oh, Kira-chan needs a face.”
Yachiru jumped him and started to pull. Kira blinked in pain at the sudden brightness before shutting his eyes and going a mournful moan as Yachiru had her way with him.
Renji snickered and Kira sighed at Yachiru’s broad smile as he saw his reflection in her bright eyes—blonde hair all tied up with frilly pink ribbons.
