Momoko had thought that relationship well and truly laid to rest, like so many others from her childhood. Little children had little say in when their families picked up and moved, so she wasn’t too sad they had never said goodbye.
What she hadn’t expected was to be walking home from making plans with Kyuusuke and Masanori for her fourteenth birthday when she saw a head of pink hair.
She thought two things at once: Chibiusa-chan and Small Lady and she had no idea which one left her mouth.
She turned, though, and looked at her and said, “Momoko-chan.”
And Momoko stared at her and gaped really and tried to think of a way to ask why she was thirteen and Chibiusa looked just like she had eight years ago in just-plain-Tokyo and…
And Chibiusa smiled and said, “It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Want to get some chocolate parfaits? Where are the boys?” slowly going from mystic to bratty as ever.
Momoko was perfectly willing to make an exception to her usual rule about spending too much time around little kids.
