I just saw The Last Starfigher. It's incredibly similar to Star Wars and yet, there's these differences. And you can see why Star Wars is a blockbuster empire and this was being shown at Obscure Movie Group. It needs a sequel. I want to write it. And if I filmed the thing on a cellphone cam in the alley behind my dorm it would be "in the spirit of the original". You can see when they invented computers. We spent most of the movie cracking up at the awful effects and the cheesier dialogue. Louis totally is going to go after Alex and become a Starfighter when he grows up. And Maggie/Kon is love. The robot and the female lead have so much more chemistry than the female lead and the male lead and come on: Segarrius got shot and he just said at the end "oh, I got better". Kon's a damn robot, of course he didn't die. Kon is love (he was unnamed in cannon, so naming him after the Bleach character was the obvious choice, because they're really, really the same).

Having one superpower does not automatically confer on one other superpowers. For instance, Sailor Mercury could not fly. Ami was very well aware of that fact as she plummeted to Earth. Superheroes in comic books could always be thrown into brick or stainless steel walls and keep fighting. Ami would break an arm and it would stay broken.

“Ami-chan!” Usagi’s voice reached her from above.

She was falling slower than the speed of sound. Of course. She hadn’t even reached terminal velocity, it wasn’t that high, it just felt like she was taking far too long to reach the ground.

This is the part where some other superhero comes to the rescue.

“Venus Love Chain Encircle!”

Ami was jerked out of the air, shocked silly by the whiplash. Didn’t this happen to one of Spiderman’s girlfriends?

“Princess!” she called out to Sailor Venus, but Venus was already gone, back to Usagi and the others in the main fight.
