purplekitteI was like, you know what? Motoki and Mamoru were best friends back in the Silver Millennium. But evidentially I wasn't up to writing that story. So I wrote this one instead.

“Damage reports are still coming in. The Imperial Palace is at the bottom of the ocean, the Imperial family dead. All of Australia, northern Africa, and southwestern North America have been scorched. Most of the Imperial army in China has been turned to stone. Regional armies have done a little better.”
“The third magician we sent came back and said there is no sign of the Moon Kingdom. The Moon has been completely sterilized of all life.”
“The Shitennou are also missing presumed dead. All Imperial structure has fallen apart and the regional lords are scrambling. The Empire is in shambles.”
Prince Andrew wandered into the command tent, stretching and rubbing his eyes. “What. Is. Wrong. With. You?”
“What?” the various military personnel who had managed to live and rendezvous asked.
“There’s no scrap of Metallia to be found. The sun is shining, in case you haven’t left this tent since last night. It’s a beautiful day. The war is over.”
