“Rei-chan, that was my candy I was saving for later. You heard me say that, didn’t you Ami-chan?”
“Don’t get involved, Mizuno-san. Just let them fight it out.”
“If you want to save it for later, you should eat it now.”
“I can’t do it,” Minako told Artemis from two roofs away. “These are not soldiers; they’re schoolgirls. I can’t be one of them.”
Artemis watched and could hardly stop himself from laughing at Luna’s yowling antics. She was so different, so much more animated, so much less what they needed. “They have no resolve. But, Minako, that’s why we must continue to protect them.”
She nodded, then stifled a cough. “I’ll keep up the Princess deception. There’s so much out there they can’t handle yet that I’ve got to keep away from them.” She coughed again.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes. By staying away from them. I’m glad I’m not completely alone because I have you, Artemis.”
Artemis wondered what he could possibly do for his princess. At least Luna could make the true Princess smile.
