Alone.
Alone. Alone. Alone. Setsuna had been watching the molasses-slow crawl of Earthan civilization since the destruction of the Golden Kingdom and the thought didn’t even register anymore than a pea rattling in a can the size of the Timestream.
There was a cough. It was a very quiet, unassuming cough for something supposed to get her attention.
She spun around, staff raised and ready to attack. One of the young girls had an identical staff, comically taller than she was. She knew who these girls were. Setsuna had seen them once before, as grown women, when she had first become Sailor Pluto and they had told her the unbelievably long time that she would serve.
“The next Pluto and her Charon.” Would it have been easier for her if she had had her own Sailor Charon? Assuredly, Setsuna thought as she found herself growing jealous of the way they were holding hands as they nodded. “What’s wrong? Is the Timestream--” but they hadn’t looked at all panicked until she started talking. What else could they be…?
“Lessons? You’re here for lessons?” They relaxed visibly and nodded. “What number are you on?”
Sailor Charon, she had a name, held up seven fingers. Ayakashi Rabejacite, that was what she had been introduced as.
“Just a second, let me grab lesson plan number seven.” That had lasted less time than it took Setsuna to run by the temporal drop box. Jealousy was nothing to the tsunami that she was going to have some company. She was going to love teaching them.
