Every senshi down in Tokyo liked Christmas a lot…
To the extent they noticed the holiday, which they did not.
They went to bed early, their Christmas cake they already ate,
When late in the night did suddenly Setsuna wake.
The world wide she found houses scraped clean
But who ever could on this night be this mean?
She found him retreated to the North Pole
And she asked why after she’d thrown him an icy hole.
“I mean not to destroy Christmas but save it
From consumerism. If I just do my bit,
I can remind them this season’s true meaning
And tomorrow they’ll all be smiling.”
She told him, “Are you crazy? You’re an idealist
To think they’ll be singing in the morning mist.
Worse, what if they get religion?
It’ll be your fault when the next Crusade is on.”
She cracked her knuckles and got to work,
Returning everything stolen by the misguided jerk.
She put all the trees up with care
And the gaudily-wrapped presents underneath them were there.
She looked at the mounds of food still left
She put all the hams and puddings in ice-boxes with a hand so deft.
Then she stole frozen peas and canned tuna and what wouldn’t be missed,
And took it to sub-Sahara Africa and Bangladesh, and didn’t stay to be kissed.
And that, Hotaru-chan, is why your mama will be sleeping late.
So go get your presents, no need to wait.
Remember the modern Christmas spirit, honey,
Giving presents and spending money.
