Wind blew over the field of pale blue flowers almost unblocked except for two figures, one standing and the other all but hidden by the vegetation.
“What a coincidence to meet you here.”
“It’s not.” Kunzite looked confused so Sailor Pluto added, “All the members of the delegation are out of doors whenever possible. The Moon is not known for its verdance, nor are most of our home planets.”
“That’s true,” he agreed. “And yet I feel you are lying to me.”
“Think not of it.” She waved a hand then flopped over on her back, careful to crush as few flowers as possible. The sky was cloudless so the wind had no impact on it and it was the same shade as the flowers that were waving in the breeze.
“You like petunias then?”
“These are not petunias,” she snapped indignantly. Standing she presented him with a plucked one. “Tell me when you’ve figured it out and I expect a wreath of them. I’ll act surprised. Now you’ll be going. You can look back if you want; it won’t matter.”
“I’ll leave you then.” He sounded confused more than offended.
She watched till he disappeared long before the vanishing point of the horizon, back to when he belonged. She lay back down to watch an airplane go through the clear sky and the wind change.
