Usagi’s breath came in hard pants, her blood rushing out even faster.
“Perhaps your princess could have healed that but there is no one else. Certainly not you.” Blood dripped off the Dark Kingdom’s Prince Endymion’s sword as caustic as his words.
Minako didn’t know where her own sword was and she really should have. This did nothing for the lump in her throat that she couldn’t breathe around.
“I am the Princess.” The words sounded like her voice but she couldn’t remember saying them.
“That lie’s over and done with. It won’t work anymore, Sailor Venus.”
“I can be.” What were they but spirits thrown forward in time? The princess’s body was now unsuitable. Her spirit could use her guard’s suitable one. It would certainly kill Aino Minako and maybe Tsukino Usagi. But these reincarnations weren’t real anyway. If the only life lost was her own then it was fine.
“So, last senshi,” Endymion mocked her, “No weapons, no friends, no hope. Take all that away and what’s left?”
“Me.” She did the switch.
