I knew this was going as "well, if Mamoru were there, Usagi would never look twice at Seiya." But what consequences would that even have? Less and less as I thought about it. So they'd have less information about Galaxia. Things went so badly in canon there could hardly be that much difference in the end. So it is not, in fact, sweeping AU time.

“Well that’s that,” said Mamoru, his glare at their retreating backs only slightly less than Haruka’s.

“It seems a little mean,” commented Usagi without enthusiasm.

“You never had to interact with them much, did you?” Rei remembered but made it sound peevish.

“It was a bit curt,” agreed Ami, “but they were rather… driven and would hardly have listened to anything else.”

“They don’t belong here,” said Michiru.

“I can’t believe I spent all that time trying to get their autographs,” Minako wailed.

“Wah! I never got their autographs either.”

“You were trying to?”

“Well not exactly. I’ve barely had time to listen to the radio lately and I never got their CD. But what’s-his-name, their lead singer, was right here.”

“I heard some other bands are having autograph signings at Ginga TV tomorrow. Want to go?” Mamoru suggested to his lover.

“Yeah! You’re the best, Mamo-chan.”
