Once upon a time there was a pair of soulmates who were waiting to be born. This rarely was much of an issue but these soulmates had a certain combination of karma that meant they had a Destiny.

The angel in charge pursed its lips and complained. With a Destiny in the works, stick them on Earth and hope they eventually meet up is not good enough. With a Destiny there were things that needed done and the web of possibilities greatly contracted.

The angel had one of them born with a star seed of Uranus to get the ball rolling as it needed to. Word from upstairs was that there was a whole string of reincarnations due later in the year. The humans called her Tenoh Haruka.

But that left a problem. They were soulmates and soulmates must be able to meet each other in some possibility. Unfortunately boys with star seeds are easy prey and rarely live long lives and this one wouldn’t be able to fulfill that Destiny. Unfortunately parents with children the same age might bring girls over to each other’s house to play but a boy and a girl much less likely.

This was going somewhere and it was not liking it.

“It’s fine.”

The angel looked at the soul sourly. “You can’t be a raging lesbian already. You don’t have gender yet.”

“I would live my life in chastity for the chance to meet her.”

“You’re going to jump her as soon as you two hit puberty, aren’t you?”

“She’s my soulmate. What do you expect?”

With a sigh, the angel send Kaioh Michiru to Earth.

I like this, especially the reasoning for making them both girls and the idea it might have been Michiru who was meant to be born a boy!

I admit the Michiru part wasn't my idea but Haruka's actually about two months older according to character data. I couldn't get quite the impact I wanted from "I'd rather be platonic friends than never meet this life" because yes, canon lesbians. I'm glad you liked it!

Very interesting take on how they come to meet. The angel making the comment that this soul is going to jump on her soul mate once puberty hits sounds out of character of an angel, but that's my bias talking. It actually works in a way because there is no sugar coating in the dialogue, only honest truth which is what you'd expect in a setting like this. I guess the ending dialogue does fit after all lol. Very good story, and the reasoning for how they can meet is well thought out.
