“You have detention, Tsukino,” said the teacher robotically.
“But I--”
“A week’s detention.”
“…Yes ma’am.” Arguing wasn’t going to help but being quiet and obedient at least let her teacher resurface somewhat.
Mama would be furious but that seemed less important than Ami, or the youma formerly known as Ami, grinning as she played with the class like puppets. Or maybe Mama wouldn’t even be angry because by the time she got home Mama and Shingo would think Ami was the one who lived there and she and Luna would have to sleep on the street or at leas the karaoke bar.
Bad thought, bad thought. If she thought it too loud maybe Ami would hear, so don’t think it.
It did occur to Usagi as she was torn between putting her head on her desk and staying perfectly still to not attract attention and keeping her guard up that detention was what Ami was inflicting on her because it was the worst thing the straight-A student could imagine. She almost laughed. There was still some of her in there, she insisted.
