Day 6 - Most annoying anime character

These next two prompts I both had a hard time thinking of anything for, then a harder time deciding which should go with which because they're very similar. This answer is pretty random and I'm sure there are much more annoying characters out there, I just assume I've tuning them out so successfully most of the time that I don't even remember.

Meleager and Atalantes, the female lead's brothers, from Heroic Age, which no one in the world has heard of. They're manipulative and underhanded jerks who keep trying to use their sister's successes for their personal gain and the hero as their personal attack dog and keeping throwing away armies to die because they want glorious victory attributed to them and have the tactical intelligence of your average goldfish. They blew up Jupiter, which had people on it, on purpose, which turned out really badly when their enemies turned the planet into a giant bomb on their fleet. They were also just really annoying, because they kept saying things that the audience knew to be untrue, and they probably did too, but their audience didn't, and the heroes were either not present, overruled, or really bad at arguing back.

The president of my anime club when we were watching it commented that she'd never heard such a loud cheer from the audience at the deaths of characters who were technically not on the villains' side. I blinked in confusion at the idea that they weren't villains by some technical definition of 'leading the side that the good guys were on.' (Plus, spoiler: they don't actually die. In the entire series. Damn it.)

I'm sure there are better examples of the sort of characters I'm trying to get at in anime, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.
