When he gave her his gift she blushed and stammered. Unfortunately what came but was “It’s… nice, really. Thank you.”
Something had gone wrong, though he did not know what. He angrily kicked a hole in the counter, under that stupid turtle cage. Motoki came over to him, probably to give another stupid lecture about paychecks and property damage.
“Next time, get her flowers.”
