“Those people are so creepy.”
“They keep trying to worship up and the Pri--I mean, the Neo-Queen.” Ami instinctively reached to push glass that weren’t there up her nose.
“I agree, they’re creepy.” Rei scowled. “I wish we could outlaw them.”
“Now, now, dear,” Minako put a restraining hand on her lovers’ shoulder. “That never works.” She seemed perfectly unfazed. Then again, she was used to screaming fans.
“Anything I shouldn’t know about?” Motoki asked as he brought a tea tray in.
“No government secrets just now. Just those weird people who think we’re gods pushing to be the state religion.”
“I understand completely. You’re a goddess to me.”
Makoto and Motoki went off into another world in each others’ eyes, so they didn’t notice Minako pretending to retch and Ami almost-giggling. Rei resisted making any disparaging remarks about how high small, slow reptiles also ranked on Motoki’s personal pantheon.
“They’ll get over it eventually. They’ll figure out we’re only human.”
