Nemu looked up, startled. “Hitsugaya-taichou…”
Hitsugaya sniffed and turned to leave.
Nemu watched the sun setting. It was aesthetically pleasing. Mayuri-sama had told her he was busy and that he didn’t want to see her to the next day.
Hitsugaya was still there. Nemu suddenly wanted to say something, anything.
“The sun is setting.”
Hitsugaya came over to stand next to her and look of the railing at it. “It’s not bad.”
Nemu felt a bit warmer than usual—a malfunction?—but she found that maybe smiling wasn’t so hard after all.
