purplekitteThe first line remains a favorite of mine, which came from an old camp movie my roommate was in. I've used it before, but that was in a paper-, not internet-published story. You'd think I'd finished crack month and already wanted more, which, oh wait, I haven't yet.

“What can I do, doctor?”
“Well, most altered individuals begin their careers solo. In not too long you’ll meet a few other heroes, who will initially mistake you for an enemy, but after a few tense pages you will become allies and will part at the end of the volume on good terms. After the initial solo run, though, you will join into some sort of league, confederacy, team, or mutual defense pact.”
“Wait, ‘other heroes’?”
“Other superheroes, Mr. Tsukino. If you are looking for somewhere to develop and study your powers and don’t want to do it alone, the traditional method is with an aged hermit mentor, but the high mortality rate of mentors has led to the downfall of that system. You could try the ever popular secret monastery deep in the Himalayas or, if you’re looking to study abroad, the X-Men institute in America.”
Shingo put his head in his glowing hands. “This is all stupid Usagi’s fault.”
