Oh, I'm writing another one. Sequel to Out of the Shadow of Her Father. It just gets worse.

Title: No Recognition

Theme: Family--Burden
Genre: Drama, touch of angst
Version: Anime, crazy Harry Potter crossover of doom
Rating: PG

The tracking spell he’d put on her when she was a baby was still active, he was both relieved and surprised to find. That could mean he was just going into a trap. But even if it was a trap for Sirius Black the wanted criminal, it was not going to be looking for Snuffles the big black dog.

Cassie. Except Cassiopeia wouldn’t be little Cassie anymore, she’d be sixteen already, he’d been in Azkaban so long. And she’d been in Japan. Japan? Well, heck if he knew.

Sirius’ spell brought him to a teenaged girl and her boyfriend studying under a tree. He spared a glance for the boy who dared sit on the same bench as his daughter, before his attention settled on who was important. He really couldn’t see a resemblance on any side of the family; maybe the Ministry had done something about that.

“Cassie.”

“Who are you? Oh, are you looking for someone?”

“You still speak English.”

“I learned it in school,” she said, like someone who wanted to be backing away slowly.

Her boyfriend moved forward to block his path to her. Sirius knew his appearance didn’t exactly inspire confidence.

“This may be a bit sudden, but I’m your father, Sirius Black, Cassiopeia.”

“I know who my father is; I looked just like him. My parents didn’t die till I was ten. You’re looking for someone else; I’m Michiru Kaiou. Not anyone around here, either. The only one who doesn’t know who their parents are is Haruka.”

“Who’s that?”

“Me,” said the boyfriend in a distinctly feminine voice. With blonde hair and the Black nose and the Avery chin and the Bones eyebrows. “Haruka Tenou. And you’re not my father.”

Somehow that off-handed comment was more crushing than all the guilt on his shoulders.

:claps hands: I really like this crossover. It's just so well thought out, and not like any of the other SM/HP ideas that I've come across. I really love it, and it'd be awesome to see this continue :)

Thank you. I really mean for this to continue, but I'm still waiting for the inspiration of how.
