“You can ask me more questions when I’m mayor,” the politician said confidently with a smile for the cameras.
“Do you have another meeting with the minister of agriculture?”
“I have a much more important date. I’m scheduled to have lunch with my daughter, Rei. Oh, here she is.” The politician tugged at his collar and began to sweat as the car pulled up.
“Hino-san, Hino-san,” the reporters turned on the girl. “What do you think of your father’s run for mayor?”
She smiled sweetly. The politician started pouring sweat and opened his mouth to say what a joking teenager she was. “I’m sure my honored father will be just as attentive a guardian of the city as he is to me.”
