“I want you to sever the bond between me and the lotus.”
The light blue-haired woman stared at the dark blue-haired man.
“I’ve heard about your ability to analyze magic currents,” he continued, misinterpreting her silence.
“That lotus…”
“The curse.”
“It’s the only thing keeping you alive.”
“Can you break it?”
Not “Will you?” Ami hated that arrogance almost as much as what this Exorcist was asking her to do.
“Why?”
He looked at her as though she had asked a terribly stupid question, something she was not used to seeing directed at her. “My vengeance is done.”
It was such a stupid answer, but her visor could see and it could see that the protection of his will to live was gone, and it hardly felt like her mouth that said “I can’t.”
“Then--”
“But you can. Pluck the petals.”
