“I’m sorry!” She would have expected a fairly-well built man like the one before her to try to intimidate her, not begin to apologize profusely.
“It’s okay,” Rei snapped to quiet him. “It’s not bad; we’re just closed. Why are you here, anyway?”
“I… like flowers.” Shin blushed.
“Nothing wrong with that. I keep these gardens, after all; I’m not going to say anything.”
“They’re very nice.”
“Thank you; they’re alright… We are closed now.”
“Oh, yeah, I’m sorry.” The young man blushed and all but ran from the shrine.
Rei snorted and looked down at the white rosebush, the blooms of which were now all mysteriously black.
